MAKEUP ARTIST SERVICES FAQ

Yes, I am more than happy to travel to you for your make up appointments. I can meet you at a hotel, your home or chosen venue, but please be aware that if the area is outside of Dubai, travel charges maybe added. These will of course be made clear to you during the quotation process.

For wedding consultations, these can take place either over the phone or at our office location in Dubai. I also have a studio in my home, so initial consultations and wedding trial appointments can also take place there. I am also happy to meet you at a hotel or café if you are just visiting Dubai.

Yes. I provide make-up for the following:

  • Engagement Shoots
  • Photo Shoots
  • Events
  • Red Carpet
  • Wedding Guests
  • Parties and Special Occasions
  • Proms
  • Balls
  • Corporate Events
  • Fashion Shows

I get booked up very quickly and as this can be as far as 18 months ahead of wedding dates. I would recommend that you book early to get the date of your choice as I am usually travelling abroad on a monthly basis to various destination wedding locations. As cliché as this may sound, I would book ASAP to avoid disappointment.

I would recommend that you get in touch with us ASAP by either:

As soon as we can attend to your enquiry, we will check to see if your date is free. Sometimes I do have late bookings available at short notice.

Due to my many years of experience completing wedding make up and the fact that many of my bridal clients are international and based abroad, a wedding trial is not always possible. That having been said, I also don’t believe one is necessary unless you as the bride are insistent on it. Usually, a consultation will take place over the phone or in person if you are travelling into Dubai where your looks for each of the events will be discussed. I usually ask that you come prepared with some sort of mood board for each event so I can get a good idea of what you are looking for and then we can finalise the look from there. If you do wish to have a trial, please note that this is not included as part of the bridal package and is charged separately. This fee is not refundable or transferable if you wish to not go ahead with me after.

For your consultation and trial, if you have any ideas of what you would like then it may be useful to provide some pictures, either from the internet or magazines. This will help when discussing looks, but please don’t worry if you haven’t got any thing or you are unsure as to what to go for, I can make plenty of suggestions!  If you have a photo of your dress, it will help me to see what style you are going for and also a swatch of your colour scheme. Some dresses can be traditional in style and others more simple or glam, but which ever dress you have chosen, I can follow on with your styles.

I can create many different styles of make-up, anything from very glamorous with smokey eyes to a ‘no make-up make-up’ look which is very fresh and natural looking.

For your trial it’s best to not wear any make-up, but if you would rather show me what you normally wear that’s fine. I will go through any skin care routines with you, should you think that you need help with this, and also advise you which other treatments you may benefit from too, i.e skin treatments in preparation for the big day. It’s a good idea too if you can wear a similar colour top to your dress, as this helps to reflect the colour back into your face and helps you to see what it will look like!

On the day of the wedding, please do not have any makeup on, just cleansed skin.

This usually varies from client to client, but as a rough guide, each event will take as follows:

  • Consultation – up to 1 hour
  • Trial – up to 3 hours
  • Non-Bridal Make Up – up to 1.5 hours
  • Bridal Make Up – up to 3 hours

Due to the number of clients I have, I prefer to have the consultations as close to the wedding as possible, preferably 2-4 weeks prior to the event. For a trial, this would be your choice if this would be the deciding factor on booking me. I would recommend this to be as soon as possible after confirming my availability for your event. Please note, that I have had clients who come to me for a trial, then take a couple of weeks to confirm. During this time, I may get booked up and will only hold your wedding dates if a deposit has been paid to secure this.

Yes, I can also do hair styling but my preference will always be the make-up, so if you have an intricate hairstyle that you would like, then I would recommend you book a separate hair stylist. Upon your consultation with me, please indicate if you would like hair also and what sort of style you would be looking for.

I will have already discussed with you before the wedding a time table of how best your morning will run, so everything runs smoothly. This is really important so that we can have you ready on time.

On your wedding day I will arrive promptly at the time and place agreed. You will also need to be ready for me to start on you, so after setting up, ideally somewhere with good light and some space, I will go through the notes that I will have made from your trial with you. I will also listen to any ideas you may have had since. I would request you have a high chair ready, if not I can bring my own and I also bring my own ring light if lighting is not great in your location so will be fully prepared.

Yes of course, many of my brides usually have a completely different look for the evening. If this is something you may be interested in just let me know at the time of booking in and I can discuss this with you. Please note that this is also charged for separately and is not included as part of the bridal look.

My make-up kit contains a wide variety of products which I have selected through years of experience for their longevity, flawless coverage and photographic qualities which makes them perfect for wedding make-up. I use a selection of Professional ranges such as (but not limited to):

  • Fenty
  • NARS
  • Cover FX
  • Kryolan
  • Huda Beauty
  • Charlotte Tilbury
  • Laura Mercier
  • Make Up For Ever
  • Hourglass Cosmetics
  • Natasha Denona
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills

My kit also contains High Definition products to help create a ‘soft focus’ effect on the skin to help disguise fine lines and imperfections resulting in a radiant complexion so ensuring that everyone’s make-up is camera ready.

The majority of products that I use are hypo allergenic, however if you know that you prefer certain products, e.g. if you have tried and tested some foundations/concealers and have found one that suits you best, please provide it so I can apply it for you.

I am more than happy to apply any makeup products of your own for you, just have them to hand.

My make-up  kit is cleaned regularly all make-up brushes are cleaned and sanitised after each person. I don’t blow on to my brushes and where possible I will use stainless steel spatulas (always sanitised) to decant make-up such as lipsticks.

I can travel anywhere within the UAE and travel expenses are charged if it is outside of Dubai (WTC roundabout to Dubai Marina). If you would like me to travel to you in the surrounding areas / Emirates please provide me the location and I can provide a quotation for you.

If you will be based more than a 2 hour journey from Dubai, then additional costs may be incurred for a hotel if necessary.

For destination brides, over and above my charges for the make-up services, you would also need to cover the following costs:

  • Return flight from Dubai (DXB) in an airline which is mutually agreed. My preference is Emirates and I would require it to be in Business Class for flights over 7 hours.
  • Hotel Accommodation in the hotel in which you will be staying as the bride, in a Double Room on a Half Board Basis for myself + 1.
  • Private transfers to/from the airport to your hotel at the destination.

Please let me know the details about your wedding information using the form on the contact page.

I will then check availability of your date.

If the date is available, I will send you over a full quote along with our Terms and Conditions.

After you’ve paid your non-refundable deposit, I’ll send you over a Booking Confirmation with all the details. We can then discuss and arrange your consultation/trial make-up appointment if you require one.

Yes, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required (Terms & Conditions will be sent with the quote). This will then secure your date & time of your Wedding & generates a confirmation e-mail. This non-refundable deposit is to secure your wedding date only and is not transferable.

Dates are not secured until a deposit has been paid and confirmed in writing.

Unfortunately I cannot hold the wedding date until the day of the trial without having received a non-refundable deposit. If you would prefer to have a trial earlier, that’s fine.

I will advise you on my availability and of any other details, such as travel costs if they will apply to you.

I understand that some brides are unsure about making a commitment with deposits without first having a trial make-up appointment to experience their make-up. Trial make-up appointments can be booked at any time, but during my peak times my clients and brides with imminent weddings will always take priority. So please understand that I will do my best to accommodate you, however if during this time, I accept another client for your wedding date, I will not be held responsible. Please also be aware that if you prefer to wait or leave it to have a think, quite often another bride will book in on your wedding date and confirm their booking by paying a deposit.

When you make your initial enquiry, I will discuss with you your booking details and advise you what you need to do next.

Once your cleared deposit has been received you will be sent a confirmation e-mail containing the booking details.

The final balance is due, cleared in full in our bank account 14 days prior to the first event. If payment is not received by then, I reserve right to terminate the agreement and cannot guarantee I will attend your booking. For each day payment is late, a penalty charge will be required and if this is also not cleared in full, I reserve the right to terminate the agreement.

I accept bank transfers and payments in cash. All bank details will be provided with the quotation into which payment should be made. Cheques and credit cards are NOT accepted.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to cancel your booking. This must be done by telephone and additionally by email or writing.
