I’m blessed to travel as much as I do and with it comes staying at beautiful hotels across the world. When I’m back home in Dubai, I still end up traveling because my hubby and I love staycations; all the fun minus the travel. We recently stayed at the Jumeirah Saadiyat Island resort in Abu Dhabi and it exceeded my expectations ten fold.
When you arrive at the hotel you’re welcomed into a spacious bright white lobby area with touches of Blue that has a subtle hint of Mykonos to it. The ceiling is adorned with different shades of Blue glass lanterns that look like hundreds of Jellyfish above you. The staff were so attentive and friendly. The hotel is all about sustainability and being eco friendly so I was pleasantly surprised when the staff offered us both a plastic Jumeirah travel bottle so that we can keep refilling it throughout our stay which meant we could take it to the beach with us. They’ve made it very easy too as there are water stations nearby in every part of the hotel for you to refill.
Our room was a deluxe Ocean view room and the bed sat perfectly placed in front of the glass doors that gave us the most beautiful view of the Ocean. The rooms are spacious with clean lines in a variety of light and Beige shades. The bathroom has a his and hers sink with a beautiful bathtub and spacious rainfall shower. It’s one of those rooms you could spend all day in and not get fed up.
Breakfast at White was delicious and I loved how the food stations are hidden behind beautiful white arches that separate the seating area from the food area. Expect fresh fruit and juices with a good selection of freshly made food. One of the best meals I had was the Lasagne at Mare Mare restaurant which sits next to the pool overlooking the beach. I have never tasted Lasagne so good! For dinner we opted for casual pub style food at Offside restaurant which gives off mix of London and New York pub vibe. The Cod and chips was delicious – which is hard to find out of London!
During our second day we had lunch at Tean which is a Levantine cuisine. We ate outside and had some shisha, which was the most relaxed day we’ve had in a while. The view of the Ocean, good food and shisha was all we needed! We finished off with dinner at the Lounge which had live music and some of my favorite dishes; Beef cheek, Black Cod, Lobster tacos and Espresso Martinis. The food was delicious and the general vibe was chic and sophisticated.
At only a 45 minute drive from Dubai, this has to be my new favorite spot for a staycation. Jumeirah have perfected the ‘home away from home’ feel at this resort – they’ve made it so easy for you to feel at home and relaxed. The resort has an ‘Island vibe’ that makes you feel as though you’re somewhere in the Maldives. It’s by far one of the best beaches I’ve seen in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. This was definitely the first of many stays!
