I generally alternate between various foundations and the reason is because as a makeup artist and blogger it’s my job to test out different makeup and the only way to do it thoroughly is by wearing it for a minimum of a normal full day. I switch between some of my favorites when I’m not having to test new foundations and those generally are Fenty, Charlotte Tilbury and NARS. I recently saw on the Fenty website that they were promoting wearing the match stix as foundation so I thought I’d give it go. I tried it out for a general admin day where I was just catching up with emails at home and I liked it however I would still need to reach for my foundation for special events. It’s perfect if you just want to blur out blemishes and dark circles and the matte texture means you don’t need powder to set it as I find the match stix are very ‘self setting’ and it lasted ALL DAY. I always recommend using a few shades of concealer to be able to wear ‘only’ concealer for your look. The reason is that you want to achieve that three dimensional look rather than looking flat with just one concealer shade. Pick one shade that is slightly lighter than your skin color, one shade which is the closest match to your skin color and one shade which is quite dark to shade and sculpt. Once you’ve applied them in the correct areas and buffed it all together you’ll be left with a beautiful finish. My shades are SAND to highlight, WHEAT as my match and TRUFFLE to sculpt.
On another note, I am loving the shimmer sticks by Fenty and the two in particular I’m obsessed with are Blonde and Rum. I honestly think these two are the best shades for tanned or olive skin tone and if you haven’t tried them then you need to go check them out now!
